A small spoon carved by axe and knife from birch wood, featuring chip carving on the handle and measuring 10.2cm in length. Finished with food safe walnut oil and beeswax.
This spoon was carved from a small piece of birch collected from the floor of the new forest during a solo camping trip in 2020. The shape is designed as a pocket spoon, ideal for camping (the inspiration), travel, and picnics. It's also useful as a scoop for coffee and spices. The chip carving along the handle makes it pleasant to hold as well as see, and the wood will develop a beautiful, darker patina through time and use.
All items shipped within 3-5 working days.
Care for your woodeware:
Do not put in the dishwasher! Wash with warm soapy water, avoid soaking and dry soon after.
Once or twice a year you can oil with walnut, linseed, foodsafe mineral oil or something similar.
With regular use the woodenware will form a patina. This adds to both the strength and character of the utensil.
